company

Ruberg is a respected manufacturer of industrial equipment, offering high-quality pumps and liquid handling systems for the food, chemical and agricultural industries.

Wilhelm Ruberg AB has been on the market for a long time and has therefore gained a lot of experience. We are proud to say that we know most of what you need to know about fire pumps. We respect tradition, but at the same time we look to the future and in most cases we are a STEP ahead of our industry colleagues.

WISS vehicles are tailored to the individual needs of our customers. Their reliability is demonstrated by the fact that they can operate in different climate zones.

In many things, we have been the innovators and others have followed in our footsteps. Examples are flat pump characteristics, limited closing pressure. We operate in many countries. Mainly through representatives who sell in their own country.

We also have representatives re-exporting products to other countries. This means that we reach many places in the world. This is despite the fact that our company is small and employs few people. Some countries where our pumps have been installed are: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine. The company operates from its own plant, located next to the beautiful lake Immeln, in the town of the same name. Nearby is the town of Kristianstad, from which we have good rail and air connections. Even though we are in the middle of the forest, we are close to other places in the world thanks to good infrastructure. Our company employs 19 people (December 2007). All employees are highly educated specialists with extensive experience in the manufacture of fire pumps. We make sure that the knowledge gained is passed on to other employees in the company. We have buildings with an internal area of approximately 2,000 square metres and turnover in 2007 was SEK 24.7 million.

History

The Wilhelm Ruberg company was founded in 1932. The company’s first products were a motor pump with a Chevrolet engine and a newly designed pump. In 1936, Wilhelm Ruberg developed the first PTO-driven pump. Everything was then made in the town of Kristianstad, in the south of Sweden. In 1943 W. Ruberg moved to the small village of Immeln, near the beautiful lake of the same name.

He continued to build various types of pumps for the Scandinavian market. In the 1960s the company was taken over by his son, Nils Ruberg, who continued his father’s work by expanding the product range. At the end of the 1970s, a new line of flat-curve pumps was introduced, which today has many imitators.

In 1993, Nils Ruberg sold the company to the French company Technamm S.A. and Bert Karlsson from Sweden.

The new owners set themselves the goal of modernising the company in every aspect, such as computer-aided design, computer administration and increasing exports, as well as creating modern technology for processing parts. Another goal was to double the number of pumps produced within 10 years of taking over the company in 1993. All these goals were achieved over the next eight years.

After many years of hard work, the company had achieved a good position on the export market and boasted a good organisation. After years, Technamm SA decided to leave the company. In March 2004, Ruberg’s largest customer, Wawrzaszek ISS, bought out the shares of Technamm SA. At the moment, the new owners, Wawrzaszek ISS owns 85% of the shares and Bert Karlsson 15%.

Approaching retirement, after spending many years as Managing Director, Bert Karlsson decided to sell part of the company. Ultimately, the decision was taken in April 2008. Andreas Ohlsson, who was hired in June of the same year, took over as Managing Director of the company.

Our Means of Production

In order to improve our production, we have built a high-performance machining center. When setting our goals, we decided to expand our employees’ knowledge of machining. We are equipped with the following machines:

MAZAK SQT 300 M
3-axis lathe with driven tools.

MAZAK VTC – 200
4-axis vertical milling machining center with 24 tools.

MAZAK VARIAXIS 500
5-axis vertical milling machining center with 48 tools and a pallet system.

OKUMA LU 300 M
5-axis lathe with two turrets and driven tools. It has a precise measuring system and a special support for long shafts. In addition, it is equipped with a rotational speed measuring system that prevents vibrations.

Other machines such as broaching machines, manual lathes and milling machines, as well as hand tools, are all of the highest quality in order to maintain the highest quality of our products. The company’s staff is highly qualified in terms of the work they perform.

In addition, to ensure this level of quality, regular training is provided. One person is responsible for each machine. They take care of everything from design, through raw materials, equipment, and tools, to the finished part. Each part is checked for quality, and low-quality parts are rejected.
